Dallas Party

Looks like the planning for the Dallas Party is coming along nicely for David and Betsy Roe. Cool!

From the Central Alumni page:
Help us celebrate David and Betsy Roe’s retirement and move to DALLAS with a Texas-sized party in P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium, Saturday, April 17, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. A program will begin at 6:45 p.m. Student meal plans will be in effect. Come to bid farewell to the Roes, hear great stories from featured speakers, enjoy the legendary delicacies of Central Dining Services and free entertainment courtesy of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Steel Pans and Jazz Combos. Attire for the event is Texas themed. Registration is required. RSVP by picking up your free tickets at the Maytag Information Booth after March 22. Or, register now online, call 800-447-0287 or e-mail alumni@central.edu.

Old Family Pictures

February 10, 2010

I am/was always the photographer of the family. I also loved going through albums and boxes of photos my mom and grandma had saved. Unfortunately we forget to write down who all is in the picture and soon we are left with unknowns, not-sures, no-clues and possible relatives in so many pictures! I found a cute little project on the grandparents.com site that got my creative juices going again. Take a look here at the article Why Family Photos Matter by Beverly Beckham. When I get mine done, I’ll post it – but don’t hold your breath till I do so since I still need to get my Christmas cards out!

Check back at https://mygrandmasue.wordpress.com soon to see if I did it or not! πŸ™‚

Wolf Moon Tonight!

January 30, 2010

Tonight (January 29th) is the “biggest” and brightest full moon of 2010! In an article on yahoo, by Robert Roy Britt of Space.com, “tonight it will be about 14 percent wider and 30 percent brighter than lesser full Moons of the year, according to Spaceweather.com.”

More moonshots from spaceweather.com article: from Anthony Ayiomamitis of Athens, Greece; from Bob Clark of Goldcoast, Queensland, Australia; from Marek Nikodem of Szubin, Poland; from Peter von Bagh of Porvoo, Finland; from Michael Evenmo of Eagan, Minnesota; from Tomasz Adam of StaszΓ³w, Poland; from Monika Landy-Gyebnar of Veszprem, Hungary; and from Mark Seibold of Portland, Oregon.

Here’s the gallery of moon shots from space.com. Enjoy!

Austi in Long Beach

January 5, 2010

Austin is having fun in Long Beach! We are headed to the Library after lunch out on the balcony. We watched the Boeing 787 initial flight video off the Boeing site about 10 times. This is instead of going to watch airplanes at the Long Beach airport….meanwhile……Abby is thinking about arriving today!

Another video Austi and I found that’s informative:

No Abby Yet!

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

December 25, 2009

We enjoyed watching Austin and Madison opening their presents this morning. We hope you all are enjoying a similar experience with your family! We hope little Bella gets to feeling better really soon. She is sick so she wasn’t able to join us for the fun.
