Grandpa Ron calls it a grandparent’s book. I call it a children’s book. Read it and decide for yourself! The kids enjoy talking about the activities and details in the pictures. The adults remember their own special moments – either as kids with their grandparents or as grandparents with their grandkids. Dads and moms get their own flashbacks, too!

Happy Father’s Day!! Today is the first anniversary of the first public reading of Grandpa, Do It! I Do It, Too! – As in it was done on Father’s Day Sunday last year at Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA!
We went to Wayfarers today as well. It was another great experience!

The book has won one award and placed as a finalist for another award. Sales haven’t been bad either! What a fun year!

2010 International Book Awards Recognizes Grandpa, Do It! I Do It, Too!
LOS ANGELES – Grandpa, Do It! I Do It, Too! is an Award-Winner in the category of Children’s Mind/Body/Spirit. JPX Media announced the winners and finalists of THE 2010 INTERNATIONAL BOOK AWARDS (IBA) on May 18, 2010.
About the Book
Grandpa, Do It! I Do It, Too! was written by “Grandma Sue” Susan Winter for children and grandparents alike. “Every day experiences turn into special moments for Grandpa Ron and Grandson Austin. The book captures some of those moments: Memories of compassion, character, patience and love,” Sue explains, “It hits on the message that we may seldom be given the opportunity to know the impact we make on another, even very young, individual. Today was fun sharing our weekend adventures with the people at work and friends on the phone. It was like a trip down memory lane. We’d jump from one of our weekend adventures to someone’s remembered adventure from long ago. Had all kinds of smiles and grins. Just like the adventures in Grandpa, Do It! I Do It, Too!, once triggered the stories flowed from one cherished memory to another. Rainy days, sunny days, cloudy days all had their special moments. It was a lot of fun!

Lana from Caught in the Moment sent me some pictures from the reading I did of Grandpa, Do It! I Do It, Too! at the Long Beach Day Nursery back in June. This is my favorite one of all – It is Grandpa Ron and Austin – with Grandpa taking a picture, too! The children at Long Beach Day Nursery enjoyed the story and were very eager to share their own experiences with their grandparents or at least with static electricity – and the plastic slide! In fact, they voted to read it a second time!
