Co-worker Kevin immediately offered Greenfield Village as a favorite place he remembers from his childhood. Well, it is no longer just Greenfield Village. As you will see by following the link, it has been christened with a new name – The Henry Ford, America’s Greatest History Attraction. It has the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile in its collection of vehicles! The link I found for this article is from a very interesting site called Roadside America.com. It has the sort of places on it that Michael the angel (John Travolta) in one of my favorite movies Michael would want to do visit, like the World’s biggest ball of string or the the World’s largest tire.

Seven Falls
April 13, 2009Grandpa Ron and I visited Seven Falls on our way to catch a plane out of Colorado Springs Airport one cold, blistery day. The guy who took our money warned us we weren’t going to get our money back if it was all frozen over. Luckily, it wasn’t! It had enough ice to make it magical. It was a great visit! Visit Seven Falls yourself virtually here.

The Grunion Run is On!!
April 12, 2009What is a Grunion Run????? Grunions are little fish only found along the Southern California Coast and northern Baja California. There are all kinds of jokes about going to see the Grunion Run along various CA beaches because it happens late at night. However, 2009 Grunion Night is a special event at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, CA. There other fun activities on the calendar, too!
Children’s Museums
April 11, 2009On a rainy day (and there are a lot of those in Portland, OR) Austin and his friends love to visit the Portland Children’s Museum. He even had his first birthday party there.
Last weekend in Monterey, CA, we discovered the My Museum where the kids were totally having fun.
As a kid, Austin’s Mommy enjoyed the Children’s Museum in San Jose, CA.
All of these children’s museums are just awesome places to explore! While on the internet I stumbled on the My Museum.com for the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley in Bryan, TX. It has some very interesting activities as well.
Co-worker Leslie says her grandson absolutely loves the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana, CA. Check that one out, too!
Found a Told U So blog entry for the Children’s Museum in La Habra. That traveling exhibit of “Ring of Fire” (through June 14) looks fun, too! The blog has LOTS of ideas on it, as well!
The Tucson Children’s Museum has several fun exhibits. Here are some pointers.
At the Carson City, Nevada Children’s Museum there are lots of interesting programs going on as well as the on-going exhibits.
The Portland Children’s Museum and The Oregon Zoo

A New Experience to Share
April 6, 2009Grandma Sue welcomes you to her first blog! Austin and Grandpa Ron’s appearance in Grandma Sue’s first book (Click my “Grandpa, Do It! I Do It, Too! page) is fast becoming a reality. The BookSurge team is doing a super job and consequently we have only had a few redlines. Today I got my first look at the whole inside of the book. I am so excited because it looks so great! You’ll see it first here, when it becomes available on Amazon.com!
