9:05 am Too Late To Get Tickets!

July 13, 2009

Bummer! The Women’s Conference is sold out before I got through and I was in the “waiting room” at 5 minutes after the sale of tickets started at 9 am!

A Phenomenal Mentor

July 12, 2009

Maria Shriver is an extraordinary person! I think of her as one of my mentors yet we have never actually met. Her commitment and down-to-earth sharing appeal to me so much — I wanna be like her! 🙂 I have attended The California Women’s Conference since the year the Dalai Lama was a speaker. I made sure I went every year after that because it invigorates me and gives me renewed strength. Not only is Maria a fantastic hostess but the caliber of speakers she collects is insightful and discerning for those of us lucky enough to experience the conference. We focus on trying to be an “Architect of Change.” The Women’s Conference Website is available all the time for all kinds of information – not just conference information – to give guidance for the mantra “Be Who You Are . . . an Architect of Change. Pass It On.”

Maria created the Minerva Awards, named after the Roman Goddess Minerva (who is on the California State Seal), in 2004 to honor women “who have stepped forward in the spirit of Minerva and changed our world with their courage, their strength, and their wisdom.”

She has brought to recognition so many deserving souls that I do hope she is aware that she has also done a fantastic job in her own right of making a difference in our world. Here is just one example with Michele Obama.

Have a great day!

The Women’s Conference Rocks!

July 9, 2009

The Women’s Conference 2009 tickets go on sale Monday, July 13. Last year they sold out in 3 hours – and that was with major server outage problems! Maria Shriver invites us one more time to converge on Long Beach, CA to participate in the TOTALLY AWESOME event. It is hosted by California First Lady Maria Shriver and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I have gone to the last three years’ events and they all have been so totally empowering and invigorating!

This year the Conference has been expanded to two full days. The Women’s Conference 2009 will be held on Tuesday, October 27. The Minerva Awards are presented at the end of the busy day. On the day before, Monday, October 26, there will be the new Day of Transformation sessions and the second year of Night at The Village. For those unable to attend in person, there will be a live webcast.

Conference speakers are consistently fine examples of “Architects of Change.” This year’s list of speakers will be announced next Monday.

I can’t wait! It is so TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

Michael Jackson’s Legacy

June 27, 2009

So, so sad about Michael Jackson’s passing. Though he seemed strange in many ways, he was so talented and such a philanthropist. The world will certainly miss him as he did make a big difference. He donated millions of his own money and helped raise more millions with different concerts and other functions. Michael co-wrote “We Are The World” with Lionel Richie that raised millions of dollars for famine relief.
Here’s a video from USA Today remembering Michael Jackson.
