Today has been a very busy, trying day. – I needed a break and popped onto the computer to see what I could find to make me laugh. I found it on grandparents.com – It’s the on-going thread of funny things kids say! Enjoy! It had me going!

Take A Break – And Have A Laugh!
November 2, 2009Martha Beck’s Steering By Starlight
November 1, 2009This weekend I read Martha Beck’s Steering By Starlight: The Science and Magic of Finding Your Own Destiny twice! I really enjoyed her breakout session at the Monday presentations of The Women’s Conference this last week. I enjoyed this book just as much! I wrote a review on Amazon for it. I am going to journal my dreams for a month and try her tools for finding my destiny. We’ll see how it progresses and who knows what I’ll do next!
Interesting Visit To Share
October 31, 2009Last Friday and part of Saturday Grandpa Ron and I were on the campus of Central College in Pella, Iowa. I am on the National Advisory Committee, which meets once a year on campus to advise the college president. We also had a tour of the new Education and Psychology Building which is one of the highlights of sustainability initiatives on the campus. It is a very beautiful building – and very GREEN! Go environment! Central is hoping to attain a LEED Platinum rating for the newest green building on campus.
Have A Great Day, Everyone!
October 29, 2009Stay warm! We arrived in Pella, IA, today for a multi-day meeting. It is cold and rainy! Brrrrr!
Back to Work!
October 28, 2009It was hard getting back to work today after such a great conference!
Kudos to womensconference.org
October 27, 2009The 2009 Women’s Conference is (for yet another year) a totally awesome experience – even as a webcast!
Yesterday was fantastic -we were there in person. Today is/was as well! We are watching the webcast from a conference room at work. The conference attendees are moving to their breakout sessions right now, so the webcast is on hold. This is after the very moving story by Maria Shriver about her mother’s last days and the panel of Maria, Elizabeth Edwards, Susan Saint James and Lisa Niemi (Patrick Swayze’s wife) about grief, healing and resilience. Wow!
Check out the website because there are lots of clips, photos and streaming available!

Looking Forward to…..
October 26, 2009On my way to the Long Beach Conference Center! I’m looking forward to the Day of Transformation of the Women’s Conference! Yes!
The 2009 Women’s Conference
October 25, 2009I am looking forward to tomorrow for the Day of Transformation as the start of The 2009 Women’s Conference. This year is the first time the Monday sessions have been offered. I feel lucky to have gotten these tickets. I was logged in less than 5 minutes after ticket sales started (last July!) yet I was over 1000 in the waiting line and all the Tuesday main event tickets were gone by the time my turn came. So I helped organize a conference room at work so we could drop in during the day and watch the live webcast. You can click on the link here and watch it yourself as well. Learn how to be an architect of change and then pass it on!
This is a totally fantastic opportunity to take part in. I hope you do check it out!
What do women want? What they are saying is here.
Who is speaking at the 2009 Women’s Conference? Besides Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger? The List is here. Pretty awesome!

Long Beach Day Nursery Book Reading
October 24, 2009Lana from Caught in the Moment sent me some pictures from the reading I did of Grandpa, Do It! I Do It, Too! at the Long Beach Day Nursery back in June. This is my favorite one of all – It is Grandpa Ron and Austin – with Grandpa taking a picture, too! The children at Long Beach Day Nursery enjoyed the story and were very eager to share their own experiences with their grandparents or at least with static electricity β and the plastic slide! In fact, they voted to read it a second time!
Thanks for the photos, Lana!

First Photos of Abigail
October 23, 2009Cyndi, Aron, Austin and Grandma Teresa had a chance to see baby Abigail today in 3D/4D Ultrasound. Cyndi posted the pictures on her Facebook. Abigail slept through the whole thing! She’s so cute! Here are sample photos of babies at 29 weeks, the same age as Abigail. Here are some fun before & after photos!
